ExxonMobil in Nigeria has been honored with the Corporate Impact Award for Research & Development at the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) 50 Golden Jubilee Awards, held at Eko Hotel & Suites, Lagos. The award was presented by Johnbosco Uche, President, Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) in recognition of ExxonMobil’s longstanding contributions to geoscience education and research development in Nigeria.
The Golden Jubilee Awards celebrated 50 distinguished professionals and institutions whose work has significantly shaped Nigeria’s energy industry over the past five decades. ExxonMobil’s recognition highlights its strategic investments in education, including the donation of workstations, infrastructure support, and training initiatives across Nigerian universities.
Over the last two decades, ExxonMobil Upstream affiliates have invested more than ₦9 billion in geoscience education through the University Assistance Program (UAP) and the University Partnering Program (UPP). These initiatives have enhanced teaching quality, upgraded infrastructure, and provided technical support for geoscience programs in tertiary institutions nationwide.
