Former TotalEnergies Personnel Charles Ebereonwu now Principal Consultant at Cettle Consulting 

Dr. Charles Ebereonwu, a seasoned corporate communication and governance professional, with nearly three decades of experience spanning banking and the oil and gas industry, has intensified efforts to support organizations through strategic consulting, leadership training and stakeholder management initiatives.

The Principal Consultant and Trainer at CETTLE Consulting Nigeria Limited said the firm is focused on helping corporate organizations, professional associations, training institutes and universities strengthen communication systems, leadership capacity and stakeholder value maximization.

With competencies covering internal control and auditing, fraud examination and investigation, corporate governance, corporate communication, media relations, event management, executive speech writing and leadership coaching, the consultant brings extensive cross-sector experience to the advisory space.

Speaking on the transition into consulting and education, the communication expert explained that organizations must increasingly recognize the strategic relationship between communication, leadership and shareholder value.

According to him, effective communication and impactful leadership are critical drivers of organizational stability, stakeholder confidence and long-term business growth.

The consultant spent 25 years at TotalEnergies, including 17 years in strategic communication roles such as Internal Communication Manager, External Communication Manager, Corporate Communication Manager, External Relations Manager and Deputy General Manager, External/Country Communication.

In these positions, he was responsible for developing communication strategies aimed at strengthening engagement between management and employees, promoting industrial harmony and enhancing the company’s corporate reputation.

The roles also involved media management, crisis communication, executive speech writing, stakeholder engagement and coordination of professional conferences, exhibitions and external corporate events.

As Deputy General Manager, External/Country Communication, he coordinated communication activities across the company’s operations in Nigeria and served as spokesperson in engagements with the media and other stakeholders.

Academically, the consultant holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from University of Calabar, a Master’s degree in Financial Management from University of London and a PhD in International Business Management with specialization in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the International School of Management, Paris.

He also obtained a post-doctoral executive leadership certification from Stanford Graduate School of Business in California, United States.

Beyond corporate practice, he is also an author with published literary works including Burdens of Solitude, Beyond the Storm, Another Me, Lost Laurel and This Sugar Is Coated with Quinine.

He is affiliated with several professional bodies including the Association for Certified Fraud Examiners, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Institute of Management Consultants and the National Institute of Credit Administration.
