Olubukola Arowolo Verheijen, Special Adviser on Energy to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, made a stellar representation of Nigeria as the 2025 ADIPEC opened in the United Arab Emirates.
Speaking at the ministerial panel of the event, she said: “We took a step back to ensure that we had a stable environment, a clear investment framework, and the things that investors want to see to deploy capital into our market.
“It took about 20 years to pass the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), which meant that a lot of capital found home elsewhere.
“We had to then ensure that after the PIA was passed, we also accelerated additional incentives that made us a lot more competitive, and we improved the clarity of the investment framework and the policy framework.”
According to her, Nigeria has since been ready for investment, adding that global investors are invited to invest in Nigeria for maximum returns.
